Moment 14-Year-Old Student Repeatedly Stabs Teacher In Back During Class In Brazil

This is the moment a 14-year-old student unhappy about poor grades repeatedly stabbed his teacher in the back as he wrote on a whiteboard during a lesson.

The attack happened at a tutoring school in the Nossa Senhora das Gracas neighbourhood of Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state in northern Brazil, on 27 August.

Footage shows 23-year-old Vinicius Siqueira Figueiredo standing with his back to the class as he writes on the board.

The teenager can then be seen walking towards him with a knife before suddenly stabbing him in the back without warning.

Vinicius screams as the pupil repeatedly plunges the blade into him and he falls to the floor.

The injured teacher, who was stabbed nine times, can then be seen bleeding as he manages to get back to his feet and run from the classroom.

He later runs back across the room and shuts himself inside a cupboard while shouting for help.

Emergency medics were called and Vinicius was taken to the 28 de Agosto Hospital and Emergency Department in Manaus.

He remained in hospital for three days before being discharged.

Vinicius is a civil engineering student at the Amazonas State University School of Technology and had been working as a private teacher for about two years to supplement his income.

Investigators said the teenager was angry about receiving a low grade at school before allegedly attacking Vinicius during the tutoring lesson.

The 14-year-old was taken to a specialist juvenile police station accompanied by his father.

Amazonas State University said in a statement: “The School of Technology strongly condemns all forms of violence against educators.”
