Family With Baby Escapes Being Crushed By Pickup

This is the shocking moment a family carrying a baby scrambles clear as a pickup mounts the pavement towards them.

The footage shows the incident on Calle Cholula in Santiago Momoxpan, in the Mexican state of Puebla.

The video shows the vehicle suddenly surging towards the group as they walk along the street, with several of them jumping out of its path.

Among them were children and a woman carrying a baby in her arms.

They got clear by a matter of centimetres before the pickup carried on and struck another vehicle.

The driver is reported to have been learning to drive when she lost control.

Nobody was seriously hurt, and the only lasting consequence was damage to the two vehicles.

The speed and direction the pickup took before it stopped caused alarm among others in the area.

The footage has since circulated widely on social media, where much of the comment has focused on how narrowly the family avoided being hit.

Santiago Momoxpan is part of San Pedro Cholula, a municipality on the western edge of the city of Puebla.
