Moment 21-Year-Old Woman Loses Control At High Speed And Smashes Into Shop

This is the moment a 21-year-old woman loses control of her speeding car, mounts the pavement and smashes into the front of a shop.

The crash happened in Quilmes Oeste, in the western part of Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina, shortly before 2am on Monday, 26th August.

Victoria Julieta Raymondi Guida was driving a blue Peugeot 208 along Oscar Smith Avenue when she lost control and crashed into a hardware shop at the junction with Acha Avenue.

CCTV footage shows the car travelling at speed before it veers onto the pavement and slams into the front of the business.

The impact was so severe that a column at the shop was knocked down, while the car bounced back and came to rest on the pavement facing the road.

Several people nearby rushed towards the wreck moments after the crash and tried to help Victoria.

However, she had suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to local reports.

Emergency medical workers also treated relatives who became unwell after learning about her death.

Victoria was just days away from her 22nd birthday, which would have been on 6th September.

Her death left her family devastated, with her father Cristian Raymondi paying tribute to his daughter on social media.

He wrote: "The worst day of our lives. Victoria, my daughter, has gone. A person who overflowed with joy. I love you and I will love you every day for the rest of my life."

He later added: “I can't believe it, my daughter. I want to be with you, nothing else matters.”

In another heartbreaking message, Cristian wrote: “My daughter, I am devastated. I just want to feel you, caress you, kiss you, have you close to me. I ask you for help, my little angel, you were always there for everyone. You are my pride, forever holding on to me. I can't go on, my love. I love you Victoria, my baby.”

Victoria was also remembered by her cousin, who wrote: “How I am going to miss you. Seeing you meant laughter, laughter until we cried. I can't believe I am writing this. Today we have to say goodbye to you with the greatest pain of the whole family. Fly high, cousin.”

Cristian is a businessman in the automotive industry who owned a company specialising in competition clutches and had close links to Argentine motor racing.

She had accompanied her father and family in July when he made his debut as a driver in the Copa Bora at the La Plata racetrack.

Her funeral took place on Tuesday, with her remains later taken to Parque Iraola cemetery.

Police from Quilmes' 9th precinct and prosecutor Claudia Vara, from the Quilmes prosecutor's office, investigated the crash.

The prosecutor ordered Victoria's body to be taken for a post-mortem examination as authorities worked to establish exactly what caused her to lose control of the car.
