Gas Cylinder Explosion Tears Through House Sending Motorcycle Flying

This is the shocking moment a gas cylinder explodes inside a house and blows debris out into a narrow residential street as it sends a motorcycle flying.

CCTV footage from 27th August shows the explosion in Dharwad, in the Indian state of Karnataka.

The video shows the blast erupting from the building and hurling material across the street as people nearby back away.

The homeowner, named as Raja Saab, was inside when the cylinder went up on Tuesday.

A pipe connected to the cylinder had reportedly broken, allowing gas to leak into the house without him knowing.

He then switched on his television, and the gas ignited.

The explosion severely damaged the building and left him with serious burns.

Police said around 80 per cent of his body had been burnt.

He was taken to KIMS Hospital for treatment.

The force of the blast reportedly threw the cylinder itself out of the house and sent a motorcycle parked outside flying several metres.

Several other people were reported to have been injured.
