Horror Moment Barber Influencer Is Killed As Unmarked State Security Truck Runs Red Light

This is the moment a 31-year-old barber and social media influencer is killed when a state security pickup runs a red light and slams into his motorcycle at a busy junction.

The fatal crash happened at around 9.15pm in Adrianopolis, a neighbourhood in the centre-south of Manaus, Amazonas State, on 27th August.

Joelisson Gomes de Souza was riding his Honda CB 300 along Mario Ypiranga Avenue towards the city centre when he entered the junction with Teresina Street.

Security camera footage shows a white Chevrolet S10 pickup speeding through a red light and striking Joelisson's motorcycle as he crosses the junction.

The impact threw Joelisson from his motorcycle and left him with severe injuries.

He died at the scene before medical help arrives.

Witnesses who saw the collision told military police that the pickup had crossed the junction against a red light.

Local media reported that the white Chevrolet S10 was an official unmarked vehicle belonging to the Amazonas State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-AM), meaning investigators were seeking to establish which state security personnel or authorised driver had been operating it.

SSP-AM is the Amazonas State Secretariat of Public Security, the state government body responsible for coordinating law enforcement, public safety and crime prevention, including the Military Police, Civil Police and Fire Department.

The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, abandoning the pickup.

As a result, the driver was not arrested at the scene and did not undergo a breathalyser test.

Police from the 16th Community Interactive Company and traffic agents cordoned off the junction while forensic investigators examined the scene.

Joelisson's body was later examined and removed by the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Joelisson worked as a barber and had nearly 11,000 followers on Instagram, where he shared videos of his haircuts and the results of his work with clients.

The circumstances of the fatal crash were being investigated by the Traffic Accident Investigation Department.
