Shocking Moment Bus Carrying Wedding Party Overturns While Trying To Avoid Scooter

This is the shocking moment a coach swerves off the road and overturns onto its side at a petrol station forecourt while trying to avoid a scooter.

CCTV footage from 27th August shows the crash near Kakkoor on the Koothattukulam to Piravom road in Kerala, in India.

The video shows the coach turning sharply to the right and braking as a scooter comes across in front of it, before it leaves the road and tips over.

It struck a structure at the petrol station and came to rest on its side, missing the fuel dispensers, a car that had stopped to refuel and another two-wheeler.

The private tourist coach was carrying around 35 members of a wedding party at about 10.30am.

The driver is reported to have swerved to avoid the scooter, which had turned in front of the vehicle without signalling.

More than 20 passengers were hurt, and residents ran to the scene to pull those trapped inside out of the wreckage.

They were taken to private hospitals in Koothattukulam, with fire and rescue crews and police joining the operation afterwards.

Police reportedly said none of the injuries appeared to be serious, though some of those on board were knocked unconscious.
