Biker Survives After Smashing Into Side Of Bus And Shooting Through Its Open Door

This is the shocking moment a motorcyclist survives as he smashes into the side of a bus at speed and shoots straight through its open door.

CCTV footage from 31st August shows the crash on Calle Septima at Carrera 13 in Guadalajara de Buga, in the Colombian department of Valle del Cauca.

The video shows him crossing the junction at speed before striking the side of the bus and being thrown into the vehicle. The bus door was open and this has been credited with saving his life.

He lies on the floor of the bus for several seconds, apparently dazed, before getting up and getting off the bus.

The footage shows he had lost his shoes in the collision, while the motorcycle was left on the road some distance away.

One of the bus doors had been left open, which allowed him to pass into the interior rather than hitting the metal bodywork.

What could have put the passengers at risk instead turned out to be the thing that prevented a far heavier impact.

Reports so far do not indicate serious injuries, though some accounts say he was taken to a medical centre to rule out fractures or internal damage.

Authorities are examining the circumstances of the collision to establish exactly how it happened.
