Armed Manhunt For Killers After Italian Woman, 22, Shot Dead At Swiss Rave

Armed police have launched a massive manhunt for the killer or killers who shot dead a 22-year-old Italian woman and wounded five others at a rave in Switzerland.

Investigators believe more than one shooter may have been involved after different weapons, including a possible automatic firearm, were apparently fired from different positions into the crowd.

The shooting happened at around 2.30am on Sunday, 30 August, at the Aarauer Rave Vol7 at the Schachen racecourse in Aarau, in the northern Swiss canton of Aargau, around 40 kilometres west of Zurich.

Police are searching across the region and working with neighbouring authorities as investigators hunt an unknown number of suspects who fled after the gunfire.

The victim has been named as Maria Spinelli, 22, an Italian citizen who had recently moved to nearby Oftringen hoping to build a new life in Switzerland.
